What is required on a diving boat in Kentucky?
Anyone diving in an area where there are or might be boats are required to display the diver’s flag. The diver’s flag is red with a white diagonal stripe and should be displayed on the surface of the water (on a buoy, boat or other floating platform) by any person or group of persons engaged in diving.
Vessels involved in a diving operation must display a white and blue alpha flag. The flag indicates that the vessel is involved in a diving activity and has restricted maneuverability.
How far must you be from a diver down flag?
Divers must stay within 50 feet of the flag.
Boaters must not approach within 100 feet from diver’s flags.
