What is a port hand buoy?
A port hand buoy
marks the port (left) side of a channel, or where a danger is located;
It must be kept on the port (left) side of a pleasure craft when proceeding
upstream

It is green in color;
If the buoy has a light, the color of the light is green;
The top is flat;
It is identified by a combination of letters and odd-digit numbers;
It comes in three floating variations: cans, spars or pillars.
