What is a port hand buoy?
- A port hand buoy marks the port (left) side of a channel, or where a danger is located;
- It must be kept on the port (left) side of a pleasure craft when proceeding upstream;
- It is green in color;
- If the buoy has a light, the color of the light is green;
- The top is flat;
- It is identified by a combination of letters and odd-digit numbers;
- It comes in three floating variations: cans, spars or pillars.
