What is a V-shaped hull?
The V-shaped hull has a sharper entry into the water that provides for a smoother ride in rough water. They do, however, require more power to achieve the same speed.
A V-shaped hull has a pointed, wedge-like structure at the bow (front) of the vessel that gradually widens as it approaches the stern (back). When viewed from above, the hull looks like the letter V.
A V-shaped hull is designed to cut through waves and choppy water more efficiently than a flat-bottomed hull.
Many runabouts use the V-Shaped hull design.
