Where to navigate in New Brunswick?

New Brunswick is a popular destination for boaters from all over North America, and with good reason. With more than 7,000 kilometers of coastline and over 1,000 lakes, including some of the world’s highest tides and Canada’s warmest salt water, New Brunswick offers a great variety of ways to enjoy the water.

Holders of Canada’s Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC), commonly known as a “boating license”, have a host of sporting, sightseeing and leisure opportunities available. In New Brunswick, boating can mean everything from tranquil sunset cruises on Grand Lake to exhilarating zodiac rides in Passamaquoddy Bay.

For nature lovers, the Bay of Fundy is home to many breeds of shark and offers some of the best whale watching in the province from Grand Manan Island. The New Brunswick coastline is home to everything from porpoises to seabirds. Or visit Lake Petitcodiac to see golden and bald eagles, loons, and ospreys.

Anglers should head for the Miramichi River or Kedgwick River. Both offer excellent salmon fishing and attract enthusiasts from miles around. The pristine waters of Lake Utopia, in the historic town of St. George, are home to a diverse assortment of fish, or you can go water skiing, jet-skiing, or sailing.

The Saint John River offers a variety of water activities, including boating, kayaking, and canoeing. You can also moor your boat at one of the many marinas and explore the historic sites dotted along the river banks.
