Marine Sanitation Devices requirements in New Jersey
It is illegal to discharge or leave sewage or waste containers in New Jersey waters.
No person owning or operating a vessel with a marine toilet may use, or permit the use of, a toilet on the waters of this state, unless there is a US Coast Guard-approved marine sanitation device (MSD) on board.
Boats 65 feet in length and under may use a Type I, II or III MSD. Boats over 65 feet are may only use a Type II or III MSD
It is illegal to pollute the state waters and shores with refuse matter of any kind.
