Study Guide

Online boating license - Study Guide - The first chapter is free!
Please try our first Canadian boating license chapter for free. The study guide contains everything you need to pass the test successfully to obtain the Canadian boat license. You can study at home at your own pace and then do your test without leaving the comfort of your home. You can connect anywhere Internet access is available. Proctors are no longer needed during Transport Canada's final test, simply do your exam alone on your computer. You can take all the time you need to study. You do not have the obligation to complete your studying in one session, you can resume where you left off last time.
What does the online Study Guide contain?
The online boater safety course includes information on boating safety in general, how to react in an emergency, know the required safety equipment for each type of pleasure craft, the laws and regulations relating to pleasure craft, the rules on the waterways, buoys, etc., which allow you to operate your boat in a safer way. There's no online PDF of the safe boating study guide, but you can order it online or by contacting us.
Details on how to get your Canadian boat license:
- Make sure all information is valid and accurate on the registration form.
- This information will be only used to send you your pleasure craft operator card by mail.
- Once your information is validated, you will receive a password by email allowing you to access the online course.
- You have a minimum of 3 hours to study the five chapters of the boating course. You will find a quiz of 10 multiple choice questions at the end of each chapter. You'll get your results immediately after the quiz. You must correctly answer at least 80% of the questions to access the next chapter.
- If you fail, you will need to study the chapter again.
- Make sure you read all sections in each chapter to be able to access the quiz at the end of each chapter.
- Each chapter and some questions are fully illustrated. Perfect for visual learners!
- Your registration is valid for one year. Study at your own pace, at your convenience.
- After successfully completing the five chapters, you can access Transport Canada's final test. It is a 50 multiple choice question exam. You'll need a score of 76% to pass.
- If you successfully pass the test, you may print the temporary certificate of your pleasure craft operator card, also called Canadian boat license, immediately.
- Your official card will be mailed within less than 3 weeks. Go out on your boat! As of now, your boat card is valid for life, anywhere in Canada (Ontario, BC - british columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Alberta, New Brunswick, etc.). Boat license bc & Quebec boat license
- If you don't pass the test, you must wait at least 24 hours before taking it again.
